How Do I Make My Daugther See The Good Of Goal Getter?
She is 16 and she is not in sport, more in chatting msn, music video, out in the mall with friends, TV and phone. I want her to be a goal getter, plan what she wants and how to get it.
2006-06-13 12:27:10 Alline-Schreckengost says: As a mom of a teenager, I told my daughter that if she wants to suceed in life, she must make a plan for herself now. Let your daughter first know that you will support her in her decisions but that you are very concerned that she is not focusing on the proper goals. Yes, her friends are important and they will be there, but planning what comes after high school is just as important. Also tell her that you are worried about her making something of her life and not just being a mall groupie. You have to have a talk with your daughter hills sports high school. Ask her about her classes and her interests. Is there a class in school that she excels in or enjoys? hills sports high school. If there is, that could be a clue as to what she should be focusing on for the future. Maybe you could take her to visit a few colleges hills sports high school. If she sees how exciting and fun college can be, that could give her something to work toward and help motivate her.

2006-06-13 12:21:14 Nella-Rosenstiehl says: show practical exampleswell, if you wanted to be a better role model you could always improve on your spelling hills sports high school.
2006-06-13 12:25:43 Olinda-Carpenter says: maybe she has goals they are just different than what you want for her. you can't make her into someone she's not. ask her what she wants! it sounds like you want her to be active in sports but if that doens't interest her it will only make her miserable!help her set goals around what her current interests are - encourage her to learn web design, or learn how to play an instrument and then reward her as she reaches small goals along the way
2006-06-13 12:27:21 Coy-Jelliman says: Goals are great as long as you attain them. However, goals are not for everyone. Don't force the issue the more you push the more she will rebel.Quit giving her everything she wants, make her work for it. As a parent you are to provide shelter and security. Let her work to achieve her wants.Take her T.V., Phone, computer until she earns enough credits to buy them back.
2006-06-13 12:22:18 Theresa-Bridger says: bring up colleges, costs, benefits, etc hills sports high school. just talk to her about them and how she can achieve them all. talk to her about what kind of career she thinks she's interested in and even get her a day job shadowing people in those careers. i think it would be good to talk with her about her interests, ask where she sees herself in a few years and how she thinks she will get there hills sports high school. i'm sure she has dreams. well, it's a tough balance between letting your child enjoy their childhood while they have it and helping them prepare for their future hills sports high school. it is your job to be a mom, but let her do her job as a kid, too.

- mother to mother you need to find out what she like start with a goal for example nursing.
- if she like helping people this is a good goal for her but if itis computer then push her to taking class in computer.
- but to have a goal and a dream book and boys dont mix.
- tell your daughter to be a goal getter she have to be born with it for example at the age 16 i didnt care for phone and internet, or even boys my self i wanted a career.
- at the age 21 i had a aba in mangment 24 ba in managmen 33 cer nursing .
- you have to find out what career she want to do and then take her to college to achive that goal.
- allways apply for finanl aid in college.
- get her to see that life is not a party it what dream you have for your self.
- she need help were to start1.pick a career 2.pick a college (education)3.
- get job4.
- car5.
- house6.
- pray to god for a godly man with a job and watch god bless your daughter.
- allways stand beside her no matter what she do give her support.
- tell her to pray before she take a test and god will bless her just watch.
2006-06-13 12:21:35 Terica-Jones says: don't push her too hard, because she will just rebel more. try to influence her subtly, like playing sports with her in your spare time, or asking her what she is interested in in school. Try to find a sport or subject in school that she likes, and help her achieve her goals. Just, remember, if she doesn't want to do something, you really can't make her do it.
2006-06-13 12:22:21 Joie-Watson says: be her example and you plan out things that you want to do, and let her watch you acheive them... the best way to teach is through an example.
2006-06-13 12:26:42 Korey-Poehl says: try and get her to go to different jobs to see what is fun and interesting to her not to you let her pick out things that she feels is best for her.
2006-06-13 12:37:41 Isreal-Ruhl says: make her imagine what she will be if she keeps on behaving like these hills sports high school.
2006-06-13 12:24:43 Harland-Parrish says: take away all of her recreational things....make her understand that you worked hard to get those things that she takes for granted (phones,etc.)...let her earn for the things she uses...Sadly, some people will have to experience the fruits of their labor (or lack thereof) before they will take the initiative to do something. I suggest trying to get your daughter involved in a cause. Take her to a homeless shelter, an animal shelter, or bring her to a fundraiser for a charity. She has to become passionate about something before she will take action to do anything. Once she finds something she believes is worth the effort, she will directly be able to attain a goal, and hopefully be motivated to try this approach everywhere.sadly there is know way to force them but have you sat down and showed her how you live like is it paycheck to paycheck or did you get the education and actually have a savings acct and money for trips ect explain that tv phone clothes all might be out of reach without education hills sports high school.
2006-06-13 12:22:23 Sasha-Rawls says: Their are many ways. Tell your daugther that you will match evry dollar she makes at the end of the week. The rules below will apply.1. You can't loan money2. Money can't be given to you3. Every dollar must be explained via writting(pay stub,etc)4. You can't ask people for moneyThis project will teacher her to be a goal oriented person.
2006-06-13 12:32:12 Loyd-Eisenmann says: Ask her to set a few short term goals and reward her when she accomplishes them. Let her choose them but encourage her and give her the tools to finish them with. That will make her see if she wants something in life she will have to work at it.that will make her plan things because she will have to think on how much money something will costs how long she will have to work before she can get it hills sports high school. So she can afford to get them. I hope this helps.she just needs to find some motivation! Tell her if she wants new school clothes she will have to get a job or start doing chores around the house hills sports high school hills sports high school. that all sounds like typical 16 year old stuff and as long as she is doing well in school i wouldnt worry too much just make sure she is staying on track and help her figure out what she wants to do with her future and help her get going. maybe she wants her first car or she has a certain school she wants to get into...let her know what she needs to do to get to her goal and the sooner she starts working for it the sooner it can be hers. Tell her she has all summer long to start saving for her new school clothes. To make her a goal getter tell her if she wants something for example money, clothes, shoes and Cd's tell her she is old enough to earn it on her own tell her to do chores or get a real job.

- Well, as a daughter i would tell you to talk to her about her future plans...daughters always love to talk to their moms.
- Then, you can let her know how you want her to do things for her , what is best for her,,,if she doesn't listen, give her some punishments..as a mom, you can always do that..
